What school leaders can do

Principals, assistant principals, and technology coordinators within the school are often called on to be instructional leaders. Instructional leaders create a system that supports everyone--students, teachers, parents, and school leaders--in learning. Principals in urban schools are also often required to be entrepreneurial, if they are to compete for limited funds available for technology and programs that meet the needs of their students. We provide examples of what principals and other school leaders have done in Chicago and Detroit high schools to make technology more available for teachers and their students, as well as links to resources and ideas for providing instructional leadership in technology integration.
