Connect technology to a reform vision

Established to exemplify a reformist vision of education, Best Practice High School uses technology tools as a mechanism for implementing its student-centered, constructivist philosophy. According to the late lead teacher Tom Daniels, "We think technology is part of what we call our multiple intelligence approach. Some kids can't learn through a book, but they might like learning through a computer, or might learn through a camera or . . . through art work."

Technology has helped break down time and space barriers within the school. Space on the school server is set aside for each student's work, permitting students to access their work from any of the school's computers and to submit assignments electronically. It is common for students (many of whom do not have home computer access) to use the computer laboratory to complete assignments after regular school hours.
